The Student Parliament is a body of the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering through which students exercise and protect their rights and interests at the Faculty.
The Student Parliament has 25 members who are elected directly by, by secret ballot, every two years in April. All students enrolled at the Faculty in the academic year in which the elections are held have the right to vote and to be elected as members of the Student Parliament. The election procedure is regulated in more details by the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Student Parliament and the Rulebook on the Election of Student Parliament Members.
Representatives of students with disabilities and students enrolled through affirmative measures are included in the Student Parliament proportionally to their share in the total number of enrolled students in the academic year in which the Parliament is elected. If no nominations are submitted or there are no such students at the Faculty, these categories will not be represented.
The constitutive session of the new Student Parliament is held in the first working week of October. The mandate of members lasts two years. If a member’s mandate ends before its expiration or if they are removed, a new member is proposed by the Presidency of the Student Parliament and confirmed by a majority of present members. The mandate of the newly elected member lasts until the end of the original mandate period.

The Council of the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering adopts the financial report of the Student Parliament as part of the financial report of the higher education institution.
In accordance with the Law on Student Organisation (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, No. 67/2021), for the purpose of monitoring the work of student associations that have the status of student organisations and maintaining statistics on their activities, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering maintains a Register of Student Organisations.
The status of a student organization is acquired by a decision granting such status and by entry into the Register of Student Organisations maintained by the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
By acquiring the status of a student organization, an association obtains all rights and obligations prescribed by the Law on Student Organisation and the general acts of the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
