Објавио је више од 199 радова, и то у престижним научним часописима међународног значаја (29 радова_SCI-Web of Science® - категорија: M21a, M21, М22, М23; уз 1382 цитата_извор SCOPUS, h-index: 18; односно 2530 цитата_извор Google Scholar, h-index: 26, i10-index: 42, као и 1814 цитата_извор Research Gate, h-index: 21), националним часописима међународног значаја (13 радова категорије М24) и часописима националног значаја (17 радова - категорија: М51, М52, М53), у зборницима радова међународних и националних конгреса, конференција, симпозијума и семинара (122 рада - категорија: М31, М33, М34, М61, М63 и М64), као и 18 поглавља/радова у научним монографијама/тематским зборницима међународног значаја (категорије: М13 и М14). Објавио је 4 књиге: научну монографију националног значаја категорије М42 (2003); приручник-помоћни уџбеник (девет издања: 1998, 1999, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2017, 2021); збирку задатака са изводима из теорије (два издања: 2009, 2018) и основни универзитетски уџбеник (2021). Реализовао је и верификовао 30 техничких решења (прототипови лабораторијских мобилних робота; нова фабричка постројења у металопрерађивачкој индустрији; нове методе и алгоритми у домену развоја роботике и вештачке интелигенције; оригинални софтвери и софтверске апликације за машинско учење интелигентних роботских система, процесирање дигиталне слике објеката у роботском окружењу и интелигентно стерео-визуелно управљање мобилних робота базирано на машинском гледању). Експерт је (2006-2024), данас у својству Vice-Chairperson_а за инжењерство, изабран од стране „Research Executive Agency - REA“ која ради под окриљем Европске комисије у Бриселу, са циљем да рецензира, оцењује и рангира европске предлоге научно-истраживачких пројеката, као и прихваћене водеће пројекте током реализације, у оквиру раније FP7-PEOPLE Research projects – Host-Driven Actions_ITN-IAPP, затим H2020-MSCA_ITN-IF-RISE, све до Horizon Europe MSCA_Postdoctoral Fellowships-2023 & Horizon Europe MSCA_Doctoral Networks-2023 позива. Изабран је за експерта Европске комисије (2021-2024) за евалуацију предлога научно-истраживачких пројеката у домену роботике и вештачке интелигенције, и то у оквиру позива HORIZON-CL4-DIGITAL-EMERGING-2021-01, као и HORIZON-CL4-2024-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01-04, HORIZON-CL4-2024-HUMAN-03, под окриљем „DG CNECT - Communications Networks, Content and Technology, Unit A1 - Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Innovation and Excellence“, из Луксембурга и Брисела (The Directorate General-DG и REA), односно HaDEA - European Health and Digital Executive Agency - Industrial leadership in AI, Data and Robotics Partnership, из Брисела. Изабран је за експерта (2021-2024) од стране агенције „European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency - EISMEA“ која ради под окриљем Европске комисије у Бриселу, са циљем да рецензира, оцењује и рангира европске предлоге научно-истраживачких пројеката за инжењерство, посебно у домену когнитивне роботике и примене вештачке интелигенције, као и да мониторингом и рецензирањем периодичног Извештаја дâ оцену изведених активности, после првог периода извештавања (од 1. октобра 2022. до 30. септембра 2023.), и то у оквиру позива HORIZON-EIC-2021-PATHFINDERCHALLENGES-01 и HORIZON-EIC-2022-PATHFINDEROPEN-01, а и позива Horizon Europe_WIDERA-2022-ACCESS-07. Изабран је за експерта (2024.) од стране агенције HaDEA - European Health and Digital Executive Agency која ради под окриљем Европске комисије у Бриселу, са циљем да мониторингом и рецензирањем периодичног Извештаја дâ оцену изведених активности, после првог периода извештавања (од јануара 2024. до октобра 2024.), и то у оквиру програма HORIZON.2.4 - Digital, Industry and Space и HORIZON.2.4.5 - Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Награде и признања: Награда „Свети Сава“ за најбољу књигу (монографија) Машинског факултета у Београду издату у 2003. години; Награда „Свети Сава“ за најбољу књигу (збирка задатака) Машинског факултета у Београду издату у 2009. години; Признање Центра за евалуацију у образовању и науци (ЦЕОН): "Истакнути рецензент у области инжењерства и технологије" за 2022. годину (https://www.ceon.rs/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=655&catid=114&Itemid=482&lang=sr); Плакета Машинског факултета у Београду за изузетан вишегодишњи рад у Комисијама за упис и презентацију студија, за пожртвовање и енергију који су уложени у ове послове, чиме је веома допринео афирмацији факултета (додељена је поводом Дана факултета 2009. године); Плакета за посебно залагање, и то за допринос развоју и подизању угледа Машинског факултета у Београду (додељена је поводом Дана факултета 2021. године), првенствено због тога што су се у Лабораторији за индустријску роботику и вештачку интелигенцију (ROBOTICS & AI) којом руководи, у оквиру Катедре за производно машинство Машинског факултета у Београду, реализовале кључне научно-истраживачке активности пројекта у домену развоја вештачке интелигенције, финансираног од стране Фонда за науку Републике Србије, чији је акроним MISSION4.0 (1. септембар 2020. - 31. децембар 2022.), а све релевантне информације дате су путем сајта овог пројекта под његовим руководством, и то на следећем линку: http://mission4-0.mas.bg.ac.rs/ Рангиран је у области "инжењерства и технологије" међу првих 30% у свету, а на првом месту је у домену "роботике и вештачке интелигенције" и "интелигентних технолошких система" у оквиру Универзитета у Београду, према "World Scientist and University Rankings 2024": https://www.adscientificindex.com/scientist/zoran-miljkovic/1147139
