Practical Training at NAVAK: Future Engineers Test the BMW 650i
Second-year Master’s students from the Motor Vehicles Module at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, along with Bachelor students attending the course “Vehicle Performances”, had the opportunity to test the dynamic characteristics of the BMW 650i at the track of the National Driving Academy (NAVAK) in Subotište. The vehicle itself is a donation from BMW, the German automotive company based in Munich.
The training session included test track preparation, installation of measurement equipment, and vehicle testing, with continuous monitoring of the vehicle’s dynamic behaviour. The collected data will serve as a valuable foundation for further analysis and simulations conducted by the students.
These, now traditional, practical exercises provided students with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the modern technologies integrated into the vehicle, while also gaining insight into the process of controlled vehicle testing in a professional environment.
The Department of Motor Vehicles would like to express its gratitude to the National Driving Academy for enabling the realization of these exercises at their facility, especially considering that, under the terms of the agreement, the vehicle is not permitted for use in public transportation.
