Предраг Мрђа је активно учествовао на пројекту међународног Универзитетског такмичења „Формула Студент“ тима Универзитета у Београду 2012., 2013., 2014. и 2016. године. У почетним фазама развоја погонског система возила формуле студент, био је главни инжењер за постављање система пробног стола, испитивање и оптимизацију управљачких параметара мотора. У такмичарској сезони 2013. године, у својству ментора подтима за погон, предводио је групу студената у процесу пројектовања и израде система погонске групе. У 2014. години био је вођа формула студент тима Универзитета у Београду. Такмичења на којима је тим наступао за време његовог ангажовања на овом пројекту су: ­ - Formula ATA, Италија, 2012., 2013., 2014. и 2016. године, ­ - FS Czech, Република Чешка, 2013. године, ­ - FSH, Мађарска, 2013. и 2016. године, ­ - FSA, Аустрија, 2014. године. Учествовао је на такмечењу из NI LabVIEW програмирања на Електротехничком факултету Универзитета у Београду 2011. и 2012. године.
