The aim of this course is to acquire knowledge and practical skills in the field of theory and practice of the production management. Mechanical engineers after taking this course are trained to perform diagnostics and to apply methods for raising the general level of enterprise organization and rationalization of operations and production. Methods and techniques for production and operations management are useful in everyday tasks of mechanical engineers irrespective of the job specialization.
By mastering the course program, the student acquires the competencies to: 1. diagnose the state of the organization in the enterprise, 2. design the basic types of the organizational structure of the enterprise, 3. apply the most important methods and techniques for rationalizing production processes in the enterprise, 4. apply methods and techniques for analyzing the success of the enterprise's operations, and 5. explain the connection between the above-mentioned competencies for the purpose of making decisions, and accordingly, upon completion of the course, is able to diagnose the level of production organization in the enterprise, to design the organizational structure and to make proposals for rationalizing production processes based on the conducted analysis of the parameters of the enterprise's success. Upon completion of the course, students attach greater importance to the organization of production from the aspect of enterprise sustainability and are trained to solve specific problems using scientific methods and procedures for production management.
